Michelle usually writes hybrid nonfiction: a combination of prose poems with too much elaboration and
scattered memories/thoughts. This sentiment is best expressed by reading "How Mary Poppins Stopped Being God." However, she truly enjoys writing in fiction and poetry as well. Her writing style is usually about an insane sort of woman whether that be herself or the women who have deeply influenced her life. She's inspired by her religious upbringing and the generational curses that have plagued her family. In essence, Michelle writes to make sense of a life that has proven to be quite elaborate and complicated.
Michelle has a personal training certification and worked in the fitness industry for five years. She grew up in a home with five cats, all female. Michelle's favorite authors are Margaret Atwood and Sarah Manguso.
